OSIU2024 is a forum designed for the presentation and discussion of works related to fundamental and specific aspects of open science and innovation. This forum addresses issues ranging from the formulation and implementation of policies, infrastructure, and service provision for the practical realization of open science and innovation to the creation and support of the human factor to ensure its long-term development.

About conference

The State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine, in collaboration with TIB - Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology University Library, and with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, invites you to participate in the Third International Conference "Open Science and Innovation in Ukraine 2024," which will be held online on October 24-25, 2024. The event will take place as part of the International Open Access Week 2024 (hhttps://www.openaccessweek.org/theme/uk).

The aim of the Third International Conference "Open Science and Innovation in Ukraine 2024" is to discuss the practical aspects of implementing the principles of open science and innovation in Ukraine. The conference focuses on finding solutions to pressing issues such as uninterrupted access to research infrastructure, open access to research results, the necessity of reforming the research evaluation system, and accelerating the integration of Ukrainian science into the European Research Area by aligning with European Union policies on open science and data exchange formats. Through these discussions, participants will be able to share perspectives and gain insights into the development of open science and innovation in Ukraine. The event serves as an open platform for the exchange of experiences, ideas, and knowledge.

Conference Abstract Submission Guidelines

To select abstracts for the conference proceedings, we request the submission of unpublished abstracts that summarize your scientific contribution and highlight its relevance to the conference. The abstracts should follow this structure:

Title:

  • UDC
  • Title
  • Full names of the authors
  • Academic title and degree (if applicable)
  • Full name of the institution (organization)
  • ORCID identifier
  • Email

Text:

  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Line spacing: 1.0
  • Font size: 12
  • All abbreviations (except commonly accepted ones) should be spelled out at first use

Abstract:

  • Up to 300 words in both Ukrainian and English

Introduction:

  • Should address the necessity and relevance of the work

Materials and Methods:

  • List of sources and methods used in the research

Research Results:

  • Features of the scientific research, obtained results, details, and recommendations

Conclusions:

  • Summaries of the research and its practical or theoretical significance

References (if any):

  • Formatted in Vancouver style

Length:

  • Should not exceed 2 A4 pages

Only those authors who have made a significant contribution to the presented work should be included in the list. There is a limit of one submission per author. All submitted materials will be reviewed by the Program Committee members. All submitted works will be checked for plagiarism using Unichek software. Accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings (a special issue of the electronic scientific-practical journal "Open Science and Innovations").

To select articles for the electronic scientific-practical journal "Open Science and Innovations," we request submission of unpublished articles with original research that make a significant scientific contribution.
